The City of Marsala welcomes, after 21 years, the World Championships & Golden Cup of Martial Arts and Ring Sports.

The first “post pandemic” championship of Martial Kombat, sponsored by the City of Marsala, the Regional Tourism Department of the Sicily Region and the A.S.C. (Confederate Sports Activities), CONI.

An almost unexpected success: eleven nations, 252 athletes and 3 days of pure sport.

The Opening Ceremony started on Friday 29 October, at precisely noon, masterfully presented by Roberto Gueli, sports journalist and RAI Editor-in-Chief.

The Flag of Marsala City, escorted by the Municipal Police, enters the parterre of the Palasport, followed by the representatives of the Nations with national flags, by the Special Guests and by the International Referee Staff.

The usual thrill, I think, ran through the skin of the Italians present when, running, the Fanfare of the Bersaglieri entered and, after taking up a position, performed the Italian Hymn of Mameli.

Master Dave Wong, President of the WMKF and well-known film actor, brought the greetings of the Federation.

While, the Councilor for Sport Michele Gandolfo, expressed the greeting of the City, welcoming all the participants.
