Masters of great experience represented their nation in International Championships of various Federations with offices in Europe and the United States of America.
Friendship and the need for new goals united them and led them to the establishment of the World Martial Kombat Federation, created on the basis of a project by Maestro Biagio Vitrano (Italy), former promoter and organizer of international events of Combat Sports and Martial Arts.
In January 2011, WMKF was formed and registered in Geneva (Switzerland).

The first WMKF World Championship took place in November 2011 in the city of Trapani (Italy) with over 850 athletes from 32 Nations.
The Championship was sponsored by the Government of the Sicily Region with funds from the European Community and UNICEF patronage.
On this occasion, an international meeting was held and other nations joined the WMKF such as: England, Nepal, Poland, Czech Republic, Sri Lanka.
In the following years many other nations joined the WMKF and today it is present in over 40 countries.
After three Italian editions, in 2014 the World Championships were held in Tunisia.
In 2015 and 2016 in Malta. In 2017, Argentina also had the pleasure of hosting the Championships.
While, in 2018, Malta welcomed the WMKF again.
In 2019, Sicily once again hosted the Championships.
COVID-19 canceled the 2020 World Championships.
The next World Championships & Golden Cups have been scheduled in the City of Mazara del Vallo (Italy) from 22 to 25 April 2021.
In 2017, with a considerable delay, the executive elections were held.
New President was elected Master Dave Wong (Wales) of Honk Kong origins,
Black belt 5th Dan of Karate, film, TV and theater actor.
Maestro Biagio Vitrano was reconfirmed as Secretary General.
Master Enrique Lima (Mexico) Vice-President is re-elected and the following are elected:
Vice President – Master Rawi Lalwani (India)
Black belt 9th Dan, Master of Karate, Bollywood Action Film Choreographer.
Deputy Vice President – Dr. Battista Quinci (Italy)
President of Energia Italia Ltd, expert in renewable energy.
